My Eye Beholds a Winsome Song

My Eye Beholds a Winsome Song

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

"
My eye beholds a winsome song for naught
but I to hear; and tho, nay ears can speak
my words will sail, unfurl, such want and reach
a  rocky, jagged bleed too far aloft.
My only ring  undone was held and fought
a heart sublime to render fallow each.
Her love and fields left empty; long impeached
in future hemlock groves tween strangled thought.
Nay words to thee from pinkest lips upon
frail grassy knoll dare mean to drink my fill.
Your nectar there, as dew, so sweet to tongue
repleat with mercies yielding bliss now gone.
Depart and send up song for ears to thrill
this heart and stop the bleed for love's undone.

I just love the way poetry says everything so eloquently. These words are so beautiful-winsome,song, naught, sail, unfurl, aloft, sublime, groves, grassy, knoll, nectar, dew, bliss, sweet and thrill-that I had to remind myself that I was witnessing heartbreak. Excellent, E.

A lovely medieval tale of love Einstein, superbly written in that old fashion way to deliver fine verses worthy of capturing the princess in question. What a woo indeed!:)

I don't know what to say about this piece Einstein, I've never heard such eloquence and beauty before. I may not know that much about poetry, being completely self taught and an awful teacher, but this is why poetry has such a hold of so many of us and we can only wish we were even in the same ball park as your words. You could transport me back four hundred years to the globe theatre and the audience would applaud wildly, but not before booing that young upstart Shakespeare off the stage :)

I like how you describe her lips
It most certainly is a very romantic piece
very light and sweet with desire and some sense of bewilderment

ohhh...bravo Mr Professor E! This makes me wanna take peanut butter and spread it on a few volumes of Shakespeare and eat Romeo & Juliet or Hamlet as a snack with high tea....:) The Petrachan is lovely.....I like to experiment....I even found some sonnets which mock the tradional rhyme scheme, just proving that creative poetry can also flourish as a sonnet, even when all the rules are broken!!

Video so appropriate... makes me smile.

Good morning, sir. I can't write to form, I try to do so as a discipline, rarely if ever successfully. Consequently, your offering is an absolute feast and revelation. Seems you can do anything because you want to, you work and work until you achieve and, look now, right now, the lyricism and structure you've created, exquisitely
