Vacation

Vacation

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

(A gang of four friends, married couples indeed, planned for a vacation and chose to drive to a remote place. They found a lonely spot and parked their car, and started to walk)

We walked through the road, long and dark,
Suddenly at a distance we encountered a spark,

We walked towards to see what it is,
Suddenly heard a sound like the snake hiss,

I slipped down and felt the deep pain,
It thundered suddenly and showered heavy rain,

All at once we saw a house so vast,
Situated in a place weird and outcast,

As we entered the big dark house,
Strongly holding hands of each of our spouse,

With broken doors and closed window,
On the wall, we saw a big black shadow,

With a sudden fear our feet became numb,
We stood there shocked and turned dumb,

With long nails, the shadow neared us,
As though it’s going to kill us without any fuss,

With big scream we started to run,
After reaching the road end, we laughed saying it was also fun.
