Joy's Waking Song

Joy's Waking Song

A Poem by Susan 🦋

Each moment's rising woes belong
beneath a fleeting starlit night;
in you, I hear joy's waking song …
dire darkness withers far from sight.

What magic lies within your soul,
dares harness this unquiet mind?
A patient sculptor melding whole,
unveiling wonders -- redefined.

Like holy water 'pon my skin,
your gently-cleansing touches, rain.
All worries fade away … wherein,
love chimes in echoing sustain.

In you, I've found my hiding place;
its restful haven shelters me.
As morning's sun reveals true grace,
lone sparrow's wings soar high 'n free.

How glorious views soon appear,
enlightens wisdom truly told;
Tis looking glass beams brightly clear,
soft teary eyes of speckled gold.

well done says i! love the language and form ma'am! so very suites the love story told .. i relate it to the love relationship that is offered with each sunrise ... from Savior to sinner ... placing such a sacred trust in a human will always fail us .. but not our Creator and God. peace and joy .. i will be making it a point to dwell on tears of speckled gold as the sun rises this morning .. right here in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. ;) of course the love found between human beings is a real gift when it is mutual and balanced .. finding its magic is precious indeed.

A beautiful review indeed! Thank you so much...I so agree with your thoughts :-)
love and support can turn "soft teary eyes" to gold...
and that kind of companionship is priceless...
even a lone sparrow can fly high on love.
I really am taken by this piece...and I am so surprised there is not a review...
this is beautiful poetry...combining the idea of nature and the love of a significant other.
