Atone

Atone

A Chapter by Norma M Sutton
"

From the depths my dreams

"
In sadness I lay my head
On the pillow of my bed
Hearing the mournful whispers of the wind
Missing my dearest friend

Fitfully I toss and turn
As inward emotions churn
Keeping me away from sleep
Peaceful dreams do I seek

Finally the night is won
All tossing finally done
Dreaming and all alone
For my sins I do atone

Until I wake from a long wet kiss
Reminding me of what I miss
Heartfelt hugs
And gentle tugs

Into the darkness I gaze
Wishing to regain peaceful haze
Until at last I rise
With long and saddened sighs

This is a beautiful haunting piece
Its fill with yearnings and sadness and darkness
Your words captured beautiful emotions and longings
Keep up that stunning flow!
