PERCEPTION

PERCEPTION

A Poem by KCthelastboyscout
"

when you want people's attention, not their judgment

"
I have your attention
So now what?...

I can feel you staring at me
Even at a comfortable distance, ever so discreetly
Am I someone that is familiar to you or someone you would like to be familiar with?
Have you taken a moment to LOOK UP and study the contours of my face?
The fullness of my lips
The color of my eyes
I hope you had a chance to evaluate your surroundings
You are not alone
I have attracted other admirers who are positioning themselves like a circle of wolves
But be aware of my look, but do not touch policy

I know who I am and what I am made of
I know what I want and how to get it
But most would judge me for using my body, rather than my mind to achieve my goals
Beauty is not a sin
It can be a valuable tool if used wisely
There is intent to what I wear and how I wear it
I am not ashamed
What I look like on the outside, is far less interesting than what you have a chance to know on the inside
... So who am I?

It begins with a proper introduction...
A nice smile
Eye contact
And just say the words...
"Hello, nice to meet you"

Some women are confident enough to show their best physical attributes in open view. They face occasional resentment and judgment from some, but the point is they do it anyway. You will look, approve or not, they capture your attention

Everyone wants to be appreciated for who they are. Most of those women who dress in revealing clothing might be trying to get people's attention with their appearance, but they are secretly hoping it draws someone to them who will be interested in them for who they are, and many of them deal with shame.

Yes, suspend disbelief and look further- definitely warranted especially now. KC, your well-thought and well-written poem presents the perspective of the ‘other person’ (could be either sex). “Admirers..positioning themselves like a circle of wolves”- how true. It takes a person of substance to meet that head-on. “LOOK UP”- yes, really! LOOK IN- yes, and really see...

I like the way you make us look with a different perception. I'm sure many pretty, beautiful women feel as she does. Beauty is, after all only skin deep. To really get to know someone you must at least say hello. Very nicely done.

Take care - Dave

i like that you wrote this from her perspective...i love doing that...
and you really catch that sense of being...who she is inside, much more important that what she looks like on the outside.
besides, there is way too much judgement by way too many people these days.
