Poster boy for sanity

Poster boy for sanity

A Poem by The High Poet
"

Just a short little poem

"
Poster boy for sanity

The poster boy for sanity?
My life is one big calamity
Float from one disaster to the next
Look at my life, I must be hexed
Invading thoughts, driving me mad
Sitting here rocking, I feel so sad
I'm really not insane I say
Or maybe I am today

is it just for vanity, for one to claim their sanity,
the more they announce, the Shrinks want to pounce,
and turn it all into a calamity, trying to prove your insanity,
or maybe it's just lazy me,today it could be crazy me,
but do I see a similarity...?

I like the push and pull on this poem. It seems to have as laid back energy, but its still frantic in some ways. Nice.

Awesome piece. Gives a nice concept of insight into the mind with a war inside of it. The sense of inner conflict is illustrated very well here.

Actually, this one kind of made me laugh to my self a little at the end. Mainly because that's kind of a huge joke between my mom and I. I say "You're crazy!" and she says "What's new?" or the other way around XD Because, well, we are... more or less. o.O lol
And, to a certain extent, I think we all are. I think a lot of people are just REALLY great at hiding it. Others, not so much.
I totally know where this is coming from. When it seems like in looking back, the disasters never stopped happening and that in looking forward, they won't ever stop. Like, you keep thinking "Ok, this year will be a good year." or "This month will be a good month." Because well, you haven't had a good one in so long, you figure, if there is a big man up in the clouds, he's feeling pretty generous right about now. But then- BAM! He's not, because it's a terrible year and a terrible month, all over again.
Ugh, that's why life is exhausting. And why sometimes I want to live like a hermit in a cute little cottage with just enough to get by, but enough writing materials to last me till death. XD
I really enjoyed reading this!

Very true feeling. You display the feeling of being trapped and it reminds me of when I go through withdraw from one of my addictions. It just feels like I'm going insane. I am finding I relate to your poetry. Thank you for sharing.
