The Muse's Curse

The Muse's Curse

A Chapter by therisa
"

When a cat knows best.

"
Oh Star
How can I
Be angry
At you?

As you lie
Across my workbook
Trying to send
A message
To me.

"Go to bed
Crazy human
You need it".

But
My muse compels me
To write
So I must.

Even through
You're right
I do need
Hypnos' gift.

Just one more stanza
I promise
Then lights out
Until morning.

that's too funny having a cat telling a human to go to bed, especially since sleeping seems to be a cat's job...mine just moves from place to place and sleeps....

i keep asking her to get a job to help pay the rent, she just looks at me with that expression of "you are kidding, right?"

Well, Jacob, my writing workbook, is Star's bed, which she sleeps upon.
Great fire of conviction in here. I commented on the technical side of writing the other day and the comments went "Pear Shape" so I will refrain from commenting on that side, but the feeling of becoming overwhelmed by an intention that needs conception and therefore you are pushed to become the vessel. To hear carefully then to tranpose from a fleeting idealism to a structure and form and then with humbleness let it go.

Great feelings

Thankyou

Thank you, Rene. The credit belongs to Star, a cat that I took in, more than 3 years ago, as an abus.. read more
This describes me when I'm trying to sleep and I have so many thoughts and ideas in my head so I wake up and write down all of them. After writing them I feel lighter and better and able to sleep. Succinct and wonderful poem. Relatable as well.
