There’s No Meat in My Sandwich

day-in and day-out

the sun rises and sets

over majestic vistas

ocean horizons

sunbaked beaches

and waits for the moon

to wash away the sun

in-between dawn and dusk

when one goes about their mundane tasks

day-dreams about nothing

roams the desert without a hat

watches to much TV

forgets how to read

waits for the day to end

so that they can do it again

in-between the dusk and dawn

angels and demons roam the earth

dance the dance-macabre

dreams turn to nightmares

nightmares to dreams

while God and the devil laugh their asses off

the moon waxes and wanes as the sun shines

with moonlit nights and sundrenched days

humanity soaking in its rays

quoting Shakespeare whispering Kafka’s name

as well as guzzling down beer and playing the devil’s game

the story goes on and on and on

but I’ll leave the minor details up to you
