Almost like a song

Almost like a song

A Poem by wordman
"

"

I lie here every night,

wishing , i could hold you tight;

as your beauty echoes softly through my mind,

as my heart,you gently entwine.

I feel your presence by my side,

as you gently unfold in my mind;

as we make love,i feel your soft skin,

as it caresses mine.

It was almost like a song,

the orchestra gently playing ;

as our bodies dance along,

then i awake, with tears in my eyes.

When i roll over to hold you,

i realize,it was just a dream;

as you,

lay gentle on my mind...

,

Thank you paul !
Aww this hurts just to read. Potent and striking diction and a very strong ending, great job!

i thank you for the visit !
Other than the obvious romantic link, I see a pattern that you connect mind, body and emotion.

Are you interested in ideas for improvement?

Ohh No! I am not making you blush. :-)
You are singing my song . . . ever so gently & with such truth & so relatable. As we age, more & more of our friends lose their significant others, so we see & feel these very things more often than we wish. Your pacing is the best part of this message . . . it floats along with a dreamlike quality, then gradually awakening to the true sadness of the situation. Very beautifully stated.
