Leaving Neverland

Leaving Neverland

Leaving Neverland

By

Jose M. Euvin

The children flew out the window

Never to be seen

To a world full of adventures

And Wendy became their Queen

She told them marvelous stories

Told them fairytales

Spoke of Cinderella

Spoke of witches and spells

They soon forgot their parents

In this wondrous land

They care only for their leader

Better known as Peter Pan

A brave soul who knew no fear

A child without a past

Living where dreams are made of

A placed called Neverland

Fighting thief and pirates

Flying from cloud to cloud

With his fairy guardian

Tinkerbell by his side

Soon the adventure was over

The children had to go to home

Leaving Neverland was painful

Yet all kids turn into adults

Except One!!!

My favorite childrens' story! I think I have all the Peter Pan movies and books! I enjoyed this poem. Some suggestion:

Fighting thief and pirates

"fighting theives and pirates"

TinkleBell by his side

"TinkerBell"... sorry, I chuckled at this. :)

The children had to go to home

"The children had to go home"

Loved it! Thanks for sharing!

Interesting, never thought about Peter Pan and Tinker the way you describe it. I always picture him as the happies boy ever. You dont really thinkg about his past much, or where he came from. All that really matters is the adventure at hand.
You brought a smile to my face, thank you!

This is really good! I'm a huge fan of Peter Pan and Tink, so of course I like it. Since this is the first writing I've read of yours, I'm not sure about the change of theme, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. Great job!

I love peter pan and tinkerbell! This is a nice little tribute to that and the thoughts of never growing up. It was all so much easier when you had no cares in the world! =-)

I really like this one! I don't think you can lose when you write about something that everyone can relate to , after all we all wanted to be Peter Pan or Wendy and run away and be a child forever. People are always trying to recapture youth, not that it often works. I appreciate your reference to Cinderella aswell another classic. It is very fresh to read a poem by you with a new theme and I hope that you pursue maybe a chain of poems like these.

I enjoyed this and the way you told it was great. I am going to let my wife read this as she is a huge peter pan and Tinker Bell fan. I think she will get a kick out of this one.

I loved this flight of fancy. OK it's based on existing characters, but it put lovely ideas in my mind on a grey day in a London office where the windows are hermetically sealed and there is no prospect of escape, unless the company can send my job to India.

Ah, the adventures of Peter Pan. He was one of my greatest hero's growing up. I so wanted to fly off to Neverland and meet Tinkerbell. This definitely brought a smile to my face and for a second gave me back a piece of that innocence.
