Desirous Triumvirate

Desirous Triumvirate

A Chapter by Sir Drift & Mr. Pulse

II shot the Moon
Shot that sucker and bled it Red
The deadly intentions that my thoughts fed
II couldn't stand being covetous inside
The other she loved and for He she died
All around she'd swiftly go
again embrace my attracting glow
teasing and running, she wouldn't stop
my gun shot loose a bang and pop

No, I shot the Moon
Shot the poor thing and all its Swoon
No love for Him or Me any time soon
She, gone at last, but still shines out
no matter how many stars I pluck down
the darkened sky still red with blood
But I feel no remorse, carry her out on a horse
Float her in the galaxy wave
she still couldn't have been saved

Yes, I did, II
shot the Moon
but then... I
shot Him too.
For II Love her
...still

that's interesting. so you're trying to justify having shot anyone because you're in love....
I liked these lines a lot :
"II couldn't stand being covetous inside
The Sun she loved and for he she died"

Vengeance seems sweet sometimes...

I am greatly appreciative!
I just flicked my radio to some really cool laid back jazz and then I began to read and by f*ck if the music and the poem didn't start to integrate.
That's what this feels like - some fine jazz poetry Sir. Awesome!

My pleasure :)
damn, this is like a love poem meets Jimi Hendrix' "Hey Joe"

"i shot my old lady, shot her down to the ground"
she was my moon...but then she wasn't anymore and i couldn't take it.

intriguing piece.

I love this poem and wonder about the underlining meaning. I could only guess! The rhyme is so easy to read and is almost a song in my head as i read. Great poem.

Thank you very much for stopping by!

I like the direction this piece moved towards and the twist in the end. I was confused with the “II” which I realize was “I” thereafter. Good

This. Is. Love! Sometimes rhyming can be challenging and constricting but you seem to make everything fit just right.
Again, Well done!

Very different from the children's story of yours that I read. I love the strength and determination this man has, the things he will do for love. That is awesome.
That is love. It makes you crazy enough to do crazy things.
