Are You Still With Me

 

 

 

Dreams in ivory midnight skies,

A gazing glow through my window pane.

In the silence, your whispers gently

Flow in the soft breezes of emptiness.

 

I feel your fingertips carassing my cheeks

Slowly combing through my hair

As I enter into my own reality,

A world where there is only me and you.

 

I hear your gentle spoken voice

Echoing stings in my broken heart.

The pieces that forever lay broken,

A missing piece, never to be replaced.

 

Like a ghost, you linger in the shadows

Mourning for me as I have mourned for you,

To feel the embrace of our reality

And share each other's moments once more.

 

My heart yearns to hear your voice,

To see the smiling face that holds my dreams

Sleepless and broken, it screams for you

Wondering if you're still here with me.

I have to say I endured my own shades of abuse. Past and present abuse are ever so fresh and the wounds refuse to heal. But this poem gave me something deep to think about. You carefully chose your words and they are wonderfully arranged.
