I have three up on the subject. All because of the recent Islamic extremist's public beheadings of journalists and the horrible media treatment of the issue.

It is horrible KL, to the extreme... I also think there is a reason they do NOT show us the horror of drones blasting not just one individual, but hundreds even thousands at a time.. the twisted bloody bodies of kids, women, men, old people, who had nothing to do with anything... if we side with either of these (McWorld or Jihad), it strengthens both sides and the horror just continues... unless we stop our government from blasting away human beings and stop supporting countries in doing the same... lets put an end to ALL these horrors KL

Either side using the other as an excuse is deplorable. The argument that the U.S.'s actions cause the extremist behaviour is just as bad as using that behaviour as an excuse to kill and take away our freedom. Do you feel safer or just more pissed off since 9 11? I used to cross the border freely without a passport. Is America safer because I can't now? I side against hate, stupidity, and needless bloodshed in the name of any God or country.

safer is also a bogus thing used to get people to agree to anything the US does... we are neither safe nor are we free and if you look historically, the US had done more harm in the world than any other country... why should we agree with this??? and no, there is no excuse for either side in this... but our responsibility is to stop the crimes of our government... there were many of us (back during Vietnam) who refused to fight against those who the US labeled enemies.. I was one of them and no I am not a pacifist... but if younger, I would NOT fight for this country... what the US does is illegitimate, and immoral on any level... I will stop, cause your poem is not the place for me to discuss my views beyond the poem.. sorry if I have gone beyond any boundries.. I think KL you do great service in posting such poems, they actually stir up debate and discussion around these issues, which does not happen often in american society...

Yes, I knew my stuff on this issue would cause debate. I think, though, we have our heads in the sand if we think a warm and fuzzy approach will stop terrorism. They need to be called out for the liars and charlatans that they are. Stop hiding behind blaming America for their actions. I would have more respect for the bullies if they picked on the targets of their anger and not innocent people they can just nab. I would at least understand the logic, as twisted as it might be.
