A hushed piano melody attempts to lull me to sleep
The backdrop of this broken reality is a cloud-filled sky
When I emerge from the depths of thought and time
I become fully aware of the promise that I made
It's wrapped around my finger

I look up at my lonely star
That twinkling light knows just where you are
I miss you, darling

Wow. The opening stanza really sets the tone. Really brings the scene to life. There are a lot of emotions going on in this poem and I think you handled them well. Thumbs up.

This weaves such a beautiful sense of soul and divine peace. The flow is gentle and swooping, taking us on lullaby ride. As the eyes start to close, the dreams of better things, more joyous times fill the spirit.
I feel as if the is the voice of the heavens speaking unto that of mankind.
A truly wonderful experience to read. I can only imagine the soothing music that might accompany the soul filled voice.
