These Days

In this time of acute erosion ,
before leaving the shelter, the privacy,
the virtue called trust should be kept hidden inside the pillow cover.
It has been used , then eventually grossly misused
and thus needs ample rest.
Only self-belief and occasionally courage can be carried with,
as they need to undergo the seasoning
- sunshine, occasional rain and the fresh air .
Carry them inside the hidden pocket closer
to the sweating warm chest, or
the drenched vest .
Size the carry-on amount well ,
they must comfortably fit to the pocket.

I love this message done as a personification of these various values & your somewhat playful approach of suggesting which value should be protected the most & which ones will be needed at the ready, on hand. Nice imagination in the way you present these ideas. I also agree that in today's world, TRUST is a tender little morsel needing protection. In my own life, I trust very sparingly these days (I'm 60 & I've had too many severe hurts along the way!)
