In the Desert

In the Desert

A Poem by Brad Dehler

In the desert,

            The parched sand

Indicative of my throat

In the forest,

            Moisture pooled on my tongue-

            Akin to the leaves

The sea…

            The sea deceived me

Surely the endless movement of sea or ocean fascinates the more than average viewer. Can sit, stand or crouch and watch q great expanse of lqiuid near breathing - its mighty chest going hell for leather, keeping one wither alert or - depending on mood, relaxed, at peace.. mesmerized. Have slept overnight in the desert, have splept on quite a few beaches.. there is a vast difference.. yet the surroundings can make infinity closer. Your words conjur here, take one other than at the screen.

Nature, can be kind and nature can be hell. Nice movement of thoughts. I have respected nature. I suicided boarded three years of Winter storms in California. In the hands of the sea. We learn. We are very small. Thank you Brad for sharing the amazing poetry.

Absolutely, much appreciated from you
The sea is so profound, treachery, therefore is in its nature. Whats amazing is how your words think of people like the sea.

Moisture pooled on my tongue-
Akin to the leaves

Please accept my compliments on the superb imagery here. These are the kind of things I dream of writing and I'm sure all who love writing do. So delightful!

Some things are easily seen "Cause and Effect" and we can shape our reactions accordingly.
Some things are "Cause and Affect", making you feel a certain way, surprisingly, counterintuitively.
