this is the next stage, moving up in the world to high school.

High School

 

I've grown a little older

and its time that I moved schools,

I've graduated primary

and adopted some social tools.

 

but still i'm a little nervous

unsure of what I face,

see the kids are all much older

now im the weaker race.

 

I fell back down the food chain

a stranger to this world,

I'm older and im stronger

but the people here are cold.

 

The elders find it humerous

to send us off our track,

ask to see what we have for lunch

and never give it back.

 

but still i go there every day

through the gates of hell,

because one day i'll be older

then i'll have prey as well

 

you see it all seems kind of funny

as i travel through the strife,

because one day i'll be older

its just the circle of what is life.

Oh yes that hell called high school! Your metaphors are so appropriate!..."one day I'll be older and I'll have prey as well". Exactly what it feels like. Yes, the circle of life. Great rhymes, rhythm, flow and tone! Maybe I'll get you a spell check and typo fixer for your birthday!:):) Barbara
