Little poems

Little poems

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Deadly thoughts

"
Did we love enough?
Did we run away to find something more wonderful?
Or did we fear the ending before the beginning?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You were the most beautiful girl I ever known.
You made me smile, you knew how to make you laugh.
You held me so tightly and you knew.
Love is fleeting and I was a storm.
Wanting everything and nothing in the same words.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do men become stone and rock?
Does passion disappear with age and replaced with,
hard memories and becoming lost in shallow graves?
I remember love, love don't remember me.
Did I kill the need to love? Did I kill my lover passion?
Or does the heart need less with the adding of new moons.
Old age, becoming sour wine memories.

these three little
poems entwined
beautifully with
the format used
how love is fleeting
reproaching ones self
'did we love enough'
remembering a
smile and sweet
caress.

now just memories
of bygone days
when time has
changed the game
of love but does
the heart really
outgrow the need
of love and longing
thereof..with the
passage of time?
I think not..

Nice Work John

I can relate with these little poems... Time changes the surrounding... But we refuse to grow sometime.... And why should we. I like the very line " I remember love.. Love don't remember"

Three lovely poems linked in their brevity. Questions. Reflections. I think as we mature in years and look back in time, there are many questions we can ask of ourselves. None more so than when we think about past relationships and why they failed and our own part in that failure. All good wishes Coyote.

Time stood still and passed at the same time. The words are haunting. I couldn't stop thinking about wine turning into vinegar after I finished it. Great piece.

"It takes a fool to learn that love don't love nobody", from that album "Rubber band Man", the Spinners released in 1974. I thought about this song when I read your final stanza . Good work sir..dana

dearest John... the older the Violin...
the sweeter the music. Most wine ages
beautifully. Passions are like the woodsy flavor
of berries and wild flowers... stored in wine cellers
where memories come alive when the Cork is popped.
