Dazzling Luminaries

Dazzling Luminaries

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

Ascending sun gives birth to wind.

That gentle breeze upon my skin.

Asks me softly to rise from sleep.

Fizzling stars hold their space,

As a waking sun take their place.

The cadence of day parades by fast.

Soon the sun lays low to rest.

The budding night a bloom of black.

Sets the scene for us to relax.

The waltzing moon begins his dance.

As dazzling luminaries shine overhead.

A wonderful journey from day to night. I like the title of your poem. Dazzling Luminaries which begins with the dance of moon. Very nice and beautiful poem.

Dazzling is a lovely stand alone word that conveys the impression of blinding brightness or an awesomeness .. It is also probably the most perfectly appropriate and likewise descriptive term to illustrate and illuminate what might otherwise be the indescribable beauty of those heavenly bodies found variously in our skies .. a treat to read Cherrie P .. Most pleasing poetry for all the senses; most pleading for more imagery- laden beauty.
Oh, how you write with skill and smoothness.

Cherrie,

Your heart has set to pen of page words as lines of purt-near romantically inclined Poetry, Poetry perfect of forever watching the sun go down with that significant other that makes your heart go pitter-patter in racing for good reason of true love ... I know all about such feelings as the reason for my heart's racing departed as she succumbed to COVID, January of 2022, and I do so wish that she was here to light my nights, my life, with her sweet and gentle presence, but that shall never be again ... Enjoy your life, savor each and every moment, and never listen to the advice of damn fools who have never lost their one and only spouse to be held and loved in this life ... Real Love, True Love, only comes around to see us once, so we had best not ever of never miss the boat of opportunity that I do think and believe that this fine poem seems to allude to and express exquisitely, to me, at least, on this day of missing my late wife so ...

Okay you got it 🙃 and thank you Tony
More breeze please! Maybe more than any other time I think most of the country is looking forward to less sun. More dancing moon and dazzling luminaries. So when you're talking to that gentle breeze ask it to be a little less tease.

Thank you Bill 😊 and I ask the little breeze to give you'll a vist.
Beautiful throughout, love the final two lines especially. You have a special art, Cherrie, not academically metaphorical but an instinctive way of having Humankind aligned to that heavenly unlimited space. How true that is, how wonderfully you can express it: we are a small part of the Endless Vastness.

'The waltzing moon begins his dance.
As dazzling luminaries shine overhead.'
