It’s the popular opinion
I don’t have time to sit around kiss a*s and listen
So twist the narrative
Go around like a parrot
Exchange your name for greens
But soon they’re gonna know what expose means
You took your time
And waited your turn
But every crash
They throw a wick your way and watch you
Burn, burn

I wany everybody to know
I’m on your side babe
Your vocals rattle my ribs

What would they do?
Would you pay to watch how you’d die?
Thrown into the sharks from the wolves you got thrown into by deflective bullies

I’ve been here for so long and I’m so proud of your bad a*s bitchery
I know that’s not a word
But you make me think outside the generally ideal audiences idea of logic
You rock out like Freddy Mercury, dear
Never ever forget, I’ll always be here
Youre singing voice growls like a tiger
And draw the pressure strings tighter
You began with purple hair
And then faded from blond
To a yellow glare
Blue
Back to blonde
And then to pink
My dear you question everything and make me think
I want songs like your own
Like your wisdom

I love you because
You sing what you mean out loud
Helped me float back down to earth when I was a satellite
Honestly, I love your honesty
Showed me the mirror and I wasn’t a monster
Helped me to heal and medicate
Taught me to paint butterflies in the atmosphere
Told me just how to avoid bad karma
You never called me crazy
Or shut me up
And now what was that bullshit I was trippin over?
I forget, love.

But thanks for being my rock
When I couldn’t catch up on my own thoughts

And thank you, finally, for being alive. Someone needs to tell you, this time. Because you, common denominator, you’ve saved so many lives. Including mine. �'-

Author's Note

All in all, Gabbie Hanna is my utmost inspiration for writing and painting and so much more. She’s been hated and picked on for so long, it’s so funny that bullies behind screens can throw it but can’t deal with it themselves. I’ve been waiting a while to post this, because I wanted to get it just right, I have been watching Gabbie for four years now, it’s only fair I get to thank her for being there in my darkest times, even if she never sees it. She’s a absolute queen who knows how to troll the hell out of her obsessive haters. If you’ve never heard of her but you’re interested- don’t bother looking up the drama and absolute slander and lies. Just listen to her music, because that’s just what she wants to put out in the world.

I love that you focus on a beloved artist in particular, but your poem simply stirs in me the lifelong struggle that many creatives have, as far as being outside the dots or simply for just being hot & original. These are the things about which the trolls are most jealous becuz they couldn't act originally if they tried (((HUGS)))

This powerful, strong writing, telling it like it is, even if it's badass.... just certainly painted a true description of a bully-type who doesn't care what people think of her ... even people who hate, still love her for who she is, so honesty plays a big part of this poem...one of my favs is "I love you because you sing what you mean out loud." and " I don't have time to sit around, kiss a*s and listen"

It is always nice to have someone in your corner when you feel you have been pushed around and belittled me too many times.

The older I get the less I care about people squawking behind my back. Let them talk if it makes them happy. I know the truth and my true friends know me so I tend to let it go. Now when I was younger that wasn’t how I felt with things.

I don't know Gabbie Hanna either, but your words tell me she has got guts. She's got fight in her and if she ends up on the floor of the ring, she is going to drag herself up and fight back and WIN. We all need a role model like her. A poem with buckets of strength in it. Don't let the sods get you down. Well penned Colacat. A poem with attitude. I like it.

love the Freddy Mercury part, but really the whole poem.
It is so honest and raw. And reminds me how I can barely catch up to my own thoughts.
I don't know Gabbie Hanna, but I hate bullies with a passion.
I know the feeling....dealt with one back in the Bronx...some kid who picked on me outside of school....I was 6 or 7 and he was probably 11 or 12....much bigger than I was....I would like to say hello to him now.
I have heard your poetry read on Diverse...I like how he reads, and I like your words, Colacat.
