Anger Trances…

Doc. Johanessan: Ok, Skid. Today we will talk about your anger trances. Tell me. No, explain to me what you feel when you go into these anger trances.

Hernandez: Well, when something or someone makes me angry, I tend to go into another state. It’s like the movie Altered States.. Although Eddie dealt with isolation tanks and hallucinogens to reach those higher levels, anger for me is the “hallucinogen”. “Apparently I entered a very primitive consciousness. All I can remember is what was comprehensible to that consciousness.” He mentions in the movie. I don’t enter a primitive consciousness, but I do enter a different consciousness than my own. When I do enter it, I don’t remember what happened during that period of “blackout”, I guess you can say.

Doc. Johanessan: Altered States, hmm, I do recall that movie. So, explain to me in full detail what you enter when you go into this trance. What do you see in this…this… consciousness.

Hernandez: It all begins with that someone or something that triggers my anger. Like I mentioned before, it’s like some kind of liquid, anger is. Let’s say for example my little sister starts screaming at me for no apparent reason. Her words are like fuel, I think anger is symbolized by fire, right?

Doc. Johanessan: Right (nods head).

Hernandez: Ok, so her words are the fuel. At the moment my “fire” burns low and weak. Unable to hurt anyone or anything. Maybe cause some sort of vague damage like a small curable burn. As she screams at me, she feeds the fire. It gradually increases, the fire matures, until it burns widely and...

Doc. Johanessan: -stares-

Hernandez: -looks around- What are we staring at?

Doc. Johanessan: You know, I'm just noticing how you're wearing two different kinds of white.

Hernandez: Um. What?!

Doc. Johanessan: Yes, two different kinds of white. Why are you wearing darker white pants than your shirt? Don't they wash your clothes here?

Hernandez: Are you being serious right now?

Doc. Johanessan: It just baffles me. I notice that with my other patients too. Your whites are more like gray.

Hernandez: You, lady, have some issues.

Doc. Johanessan: No, no, no. I've told you before Skid, we're not here because I have a problem. We're here because you have a problem and don't want to deal with it.

Hernandez: You're commenting on how off my whites are while I am trying to have a session with you. Like, what's up with that?! That doesn't scream... issue?

Doc. Johanessan: Please, don't raise your voice at me. We'll calmly discuss this matter.

Hernandez: No. We're not. And I'm not raising my voice at you. I'm speaking in a perfectly calm manner.

DOc. Johanessan: No, you're raising your voice at me which is a sign of aggression. We can work through this, together.

Hernandez: Lady, please, sometimes I wonder where you studied. You seem to have every letter of the alphabet under yout title but you have no listening skills what so ever. -rolls eyes-

Doc. Johanessan: I am highly esteemed in my field. Do not insult me. I have a PHD in...

Hernandez: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't care. You went off subject. So that tells me that my session is over. I'm done.
-walks out-

Doc. Johanessan: Skid, don't walk away...

-door slams shut-
