The War Rage

The War Rage

A Poem by Devansh Shekhar Shukla
"

I am really sad at what is happening in Ukraine. I strongly oppose war. It leaves behind it, loss and destruction only... I hope for peace.

"
Sometimes, I can't understand,
What do they mean by refusing to shake hands.

All the time, they want to fight,
They really don't care, is it right?

Working hard on armies and weapons,
Aren't treaties better than those tanks and guns?

Why don't they think like me and people like me?
They don't see the dreadful future but I can see.

One day, in this competition of 'skilled warriors',
The world will sink in an ocean of tears.

Devansh, all they see is minerals, oil and resources. The poor people suffer for the greed of the powerful countries. This is a sad time my friend. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Why don't they think like rational people?? War is horrific and it kills and maims and displaces people for what? to gain wealth, to be sovereign? This chaos now is quite scary and who know when and where it will end. Nice, relatable write!

Wonderfully expressed, I don't believe in war, it only brings death and tears ;-}

Violence is the last resort of the incompetent. Isaac Asimov

Without a sense of humor, war never changes, which is why even stupid jokes are often censored.
