Once Again

Once Again

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

Once Again

Hello!
That's when the troubles came.
We were both sweeping
in seperate lanes and so
lost our footings

Good morning!
That's when the bristles came
We were on the wrong tracks and so
accidents of distress pronounced us
dead and alive

Good bye!
That is something that hangs like
a billboard blocking the sunrise
shocking the nature of things
smells like singed hair on lightning rods
sizzling the sight and the sounds of doves

Ohhhhh-Mega-Ouchies! Poor little pup has gotten himself too close too danger, as we do so many times in our lives. Wrong time, wrong place, just wrong..and then gone...great verse form with leading lines, flow, cleverness of language, metaphor, alliteration, imagery. Billboards blocking painful memories. Great poem E. P.S. Hope pup is rid of the barbs and feeling much better!!

It was my pleasure Mr. E! :)
Doggone it. I remember getting one of those long stretchy leads. Took the dog out.
Got to the park where every bloody dog made a beeline for me.
The lead got wrapped around me, and I went flying.
Glad youtube wasn't around then.

Maybe I haven’t had enuf coffee yet this morning, but I’m not sure how your poem jives with your photo. Despite the seemingly “out there” quality of how you describe the encounter, your photo clearly shows what “bristles” can do to a poor innocent pooch! I’ve never seen a porcupine, nor saw anyone or creature who had an encounter with one, but it always looks sooo bad! I’m over here cringing, despite the rather gentle wording of your disaster. And I think it’s a pain to snip dog nails (I always manage to draw blood!) I would HATE to have to pluck out these spines! EEEEEK! Thank you for sharing & reminding me to be thankful my pups stick around home pretty much (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

viciously good piece here...and as always, poems will remind us of something or someone when they are universal...this one does...reminds me of a best friend i lost so many years ago...we live and die...and some die much too soon. now an imaginary billboard with her picture on it blocks my sun...even though her memory still shines upon me.

I hope it's not what You are in right now Mr. E, it's not funny at all... at all... the confusing cycle, round and round again, and again... in the end, the pain of goodbye leaves us with no clarity in mind, no warmth at heart, and once again we enter the cycle, go round it, to get stuck again!
