What Happened?

One day at school I was at recess walking with Leanne when Cole ran up to us. His face looked worried.

"I need you to help me find Cole!" he said.

"Found him!" I said.

I poked his nose. I didn't know if this was awkward or if it was just, Cole. Nick came beside Cole and yanked him away from us.

"What's going on? Why are you in my body?!" he screamed.

"Body Switching? Come on guys stop playing," Leanne said.

"We're not playing!" they screamed.

"Okay, let's ask some questions," I said. "Who was Cole's teacher last year? Homeroom," I asked.

"Mrs. Raney!" Nick blurted.

"Who's Leanne's crush?" I asked.

"HEY!" she yelled.

"Hayes!" Cole said.

"OMG, this IS real," she whispered.

Adam came over right in the middle of us. I was nervous but he just called Nick. He answered, of course, still inside Cole's body. He was deeply confused. I walked over beside him and whispered what was going on into his ear.

"Is this for real, or a game?" he said.

"For real! I think I read something about this in a book once," I claimed.

Everyone's eyes pierced on me. I think I was suppose to say what I read from the book. 

"Ancients from long ago, up to 6000 BC believed that best friends who hadn't socialized with one another in a while would switch bodies. This theory was to show that you need a friend by your side," I said.

"Totally fake," Adam said.

"WAIT!" I said, grabbing his arm. "It also said that if he/she pointed this out to more than 60 people, they would be stuck in one another bodies forever," I whispered kinda soft.

"FOREVER?" they screamed.

"Forever," I repeated.

"How long will this last?" Cole asked.

"Depends, how long have you 2 been friends?" I asked.

"Um, since the beginning of school I think," Nick answered.

"Okay let's see. School started in August and It's April so... 9 months about. So you will be in you own body in about, an hour," I said.

"This will be the longest hour of my life," Nick said.

"You said it Nickapoo," Cole sighed.

After that the recess bell rang. They went into each other's spot in line. We all went back to our classrooms.
