Dark POEtry...A tapestry fresh sewn

Dark POEtry...A tapestry fresh sewn

A Poem by Gee
"

Yet more simple words :)

"
Melancholia sits well with me
she is always at my side,
she is my pen and blackest ink
she is my dark hour bride,
a bride that will not censor me
will not invite the light
instead like me she'll glory in
the quiet, still of night,
when as all sleep we prowl and roam
through stones that proclaim death,
watched by the ravens beady eye
warmed by the reapers breath,
until the dawning of the day
until the sun is known,
until the page a tapestry
of poems freshly sewn...

The black ink of our words absorbs the light to create a night we poets can roam in. Wed to melancholia in symbiocity. Excellent ideas you invoke and excellent poem!

But ... Fresh sewn is killing me! I stumble on it. I so desperately want it to be freshly. But who am I? A poet prowling in your graveyard. I'll get back into my grave!!!

Right! Write 'of poetry freshly sewn'. Dramatic and feels more grammatical. But again, who am i? The.. read more
Have you ever heard of a thing called the "rain shadow" effect? It's made certain parts of this world a lot more difficult to traverse than they have to be.

I like to juxtapose the outside world with the inside world.

In just less than 1 percent of the earth's already lived timeline (about 4.50 billion years).... I think we will figure out that, our species is objectively irrelevant. Like a cup of coffee's worth of energy in the face of a sustained and non-suicidal nuclear fusion core. ( the thought becomes more important than the thinker)

Oh Gee, that just spoke to a part of me that I have been estranged from for many a year. She is one of my more potent muses. And if I don't watch myself, would probably slip into darkish writing a big part of the time. Thanks for sharing. /Frederick.

Thanks for reading and commenting Frederick, much appreciated
The lines below stood out to me. Really great turns of phrase and imagery.

Melancholia sits well with me
a bride that will not censor me

through stones that proclaim death,
watched by the ravens beady eye
warmed by the reapers breath

until the page a tapestry
of poetry fresh sewn...

I have a fondness for the darker side of poetry and Poe. This is exquisite work Gee.

Your title and the main body of this fine poem are in my minds eye like a literary marriage .. and what's more, no doubt consummated & crafted in the very dead of night .. just like it say's on the label :)

In the darkest hour cur of melancholia... one is sometimes silent while the ravens watch you prowl and roam; but come the twilight, a spark of energy emerges and a new poem is written, a new day is born.
While you are roaming I am dreaming!!!! Hope you are well Gee

Great rhyming in this one, Gee. Yes, in the wee hours of the night, there is poetry....and we must write it down or it will vanish in the morning light. Lydi**

Wonderfully rhythmic and engaging. The only suggestion I have is in the choice of line-end punctuations: I think if you remove the comma after breath the enjambment is more certain.

Really nicely done. Congrats.
