Dying is an art

Dying is an art

A Poem by Gee
"

Or so she said !

"
What of the mind so troubled
that lucidity all but gone
and the only sound drear, sombre notes
ne'er the cheerfulness of song.

What of the mind so troubled
that the future not a thought
and death is a friend whose companionship
every decade insanely sought.

What of the mind so troubled
that love leads only to death
and there finally peace in an angels arms
a full stop as a final breath...

Silvia plath indeed was a masterpoet .. a bit upset from life maybe , i can't say .. Life is unfair , we all have seen that .. it feels good to find comfort in the idea of death , for we are unaware of it ! thought -provoking write , my friend . keep safe and smiling

Very nice, very sweet, shame 'bout the '' ne'er ''

the last line looks good tho' - original.

did you know Ted Hughes' grave often gets vandalised because he is blamed for her death - the second, of his wives, to commit suicide?

Morning rew. Regarding Ted Hughes, no, never knew that. Wouldn't think it would bother him much :))<.. read more
sobering and thought-provoking. living is so stands to reason that dying also is. to me, death is not an answer but a question. as my muse thoreau wrote,
"We are ever dying to one world and being born into another."

well done ... :)

Cheers Pete. Happy New year to you and yours
There is so much angsty teenage garbage on the subject, it's nice to read a contemplative piece. I agree with Patricia, what poet could not write about this? Your words are thorough, what mind could burrow to the depth and the breadth and find such a seed that would lead to the need of such a deed. Can't say that I've never been there, though I'd rather leave a widow at the window than have every eye dry at my wake. Or maybe it's better no one cries for my sake.

Very well written and a poet is not a poet until they write on this subject and in such a beautiful manner. Excellent work

miss Plath can do that to you good sir no doubt! we see what we seek my friend. In love life and even death, it always strikes me how the spectacles we wear make the spectacles we live
