Winter/Life...A sweet release

Winter/Life...A sweet release

A Poem by Gee
"

More simple fayre

"
Death, darkness, dormancy,
and every shade of grey
in this season of transition
that has night meld with the day,
where living now a graveyard shift
as nothing stirs, no sound,
the past old headstones rising through
an ermine covered ground,
that holds to heart in hallowed earth
our memories, tears and pain
for those who silent left to wait
until we meet again,
somewhere beyond this fleeting life,
somewhere in blissful peace
where winter, death, no longer seen
since granted sweet release...

Always, so difficult to find the right words when writing in Rhyme...
Enjoyed reading this Gee...
Depression is not anything I have ever had.. but I am friends with many that suffer the dark and gloom.
Love the line" granted sweet release.."

Indeed m'dear, indeed :))
This would not be my choice of a read if I was depressed and there were sharp objects nearby, but your imagery has certainly nailed this season. I think its cold, gloom and darkness have always made people think of death. I had to keep the water dripping all night for fear the pipes might burst. Spring sure seems remote now.

Thank you JTB
sweet release ..sounds good to me
everything hangs in suspension during
the cold boring months of winter..a quiet
time to hibernate..not very colorful at all
just shades of gray..except for the snow
I love to look at the snow..nice work Gee

i think it's beautifully said sir .. reading brings me comfort ... i really like your "....ermine covered ground" ... super creative sir! unique! ... daffodils, here in the Arkansas Ozarks poked up a couple weeks ago .. then we had a surprise drop in temps below freezing; but now three days since that they are still looking green .. i hope they will bloom .. we shall see :) be well my friend .. and to your poem .. i say Amen!

Sweet release indeed Gee. January is the saddest month of the year for me with its icy grip and anniversaries. Can't wait for spring to arrive with a splash of colour, to hide the bleakness in the garden. You sum up my feelings of the blues here with perfect understanding.
