The Perfect Hose

The Perfect Hose

A Poem by Luke L

The hose is twisted akimbo
It blocks the flow of water
Parts stuck under bricks and stones

The obstructions lift and it flows
Not too cold not too hot
Is the water as it flows

A focused hose
Pressure not enough to burst pipes
Yet keeps the water moving
Evenly

The water leaves and water enters
In a perfect circle
Impeccable flow
The perfect hose

Reminds me that simple things like a hose can teach us valuable lessons in life... If we only spare a second to observe.

The simple things are often the ones most conducive to interpretation when it comes to poetry. I get the impression that there is more to this than simply a hose. Inner balance is what comes to my mind when I read it...well done Luke.

This one is a bit of departure for you, highly symbolic. I loved the idea of the hose akimbo. Ultimately, our energy must flow or we become bent out of shape like this poor little hose.

Beauty observed and described in a simple object. Great powers of perception and word choice. I like the Evenly given its own line.
