Painful Lies...

Painful Lies...

A Poem by Manda
"

If only they knew what she was.... and what she was truly going through.

"

My face hides any signs of sadness
But deep down I know I am

My heart aches for happiness

But it's so far away....

I hide my identity

Fearing for no one’s understanding

I live in a world full of black and white

With no grey in between

Every painful remark others leave behind

Stays with me and kills me even more inside

If only others could see behind all the lies

And see how much I cry

Maybe then

They could see

All the dreadful

Things I've kept inside....

I think this poem was powerful. I loved the feeling of the poem. It is really sad. I know how you feel though. Only you wish you could help her and not somebody else. Excellent write. Thanks for sharing.

Powerful poem, really it is. I like these 2 lines for most
"I live in a world full of black and white
With no grey in between"

I like this piece a lot. Your wording is very stark - no frills anywhere, just straight and to the point. The lack of embellishment throughout this piece lends weight to the subject matter you have chosen without losing any of the emotion that is central to that subject matter. As always, a job well done!!!

I can relate. I can't always show my parents or even admit to myself in the mirror what i'm feeling or what i'm thinking. I'm not lying, i just don't mention it. If they ask me up front i'd say "nothing" or "I'm fine."
Nice write. I always enjoy reading your work.

Very good write. The feeling of loneliness is overwhelming here. My only real suggestion would be to do away with the repeat of the word 'lies' within the last six lines.

An honest and brave portrayal of how you've been feeling. I think that a lot of people will be able to empathise and relate to this piece. Great flow, and great conviction. Nice work,
