Dancing

Dancing

A Poem by Ana B.

Sleeplessly embracing

                                 in

Indigo moods…

And lazy lips now tracing

A heart that quietly colludes

In the language of petals…

Drawing that map to the stars

That have so smoothly settled

In the glowing of your eyes…

The gravity of your caress…

A gentle zephyr for a love out of breath

And yet, I still cannot confess…

The words I keep in silence and in stealth…

The dance itself is a beautiful thing when done right but when it come time to say those three little words it can lead to an encore or cause a sudden stop, like a needle hastily scratching across the grooves of the record. Good dance partners know when its the right time. Love the metaphor and the vid is pure class Ana. :)

Love the way you capture this dance... one enjoyed from a distance... before the 'i love you' forms on the lips it builds in the heart of this dance... beautiful poetry, Ana

lol, likewise Braden :) thank you for droping by

Fascinating...delicate embrace of passion. Lyrical lines lingering on the tongue and in the mind. Like a wisp of perfume...

Nice write.

The second time tonight I saw this artwork. Gentle and good words brought the reader into your thoughts.

To know places where the moon is bright and people colludes together for the pleasure of the dance and romance. A perfect place to be. Thank you dear Ana for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome Ana.
Hi, Ana!
I caught your name in the review of Huw's "Read all about it" and was drawn to the intelligence of your voice.
This original, un-clichéd verse you've so gloriously penned both captivate and enthrall the senses, even a bit metaphorically sensual to warm my, ever-present, romantic side.
I thoroughly enjoyed the creative presentation, with such a surprisingly apt photo, and The Duke set the smooth "indigo" mood's perfect moment.

Thank you so very much, Ana, for sharing this delightfully charming part of You! ⁓ Richard

You are welcome, Ana, and it is nice to meet you, too. : )
Very elegantly done.
That first stanza has a visual dynamism that's very interesting.
Gentle liquid imagery in the middle stanza, and at the end leaving one to piece it all together, nice.

Thank you very much Chris :)
In case there is any doubt about it, you are genuinely a poetess. This is a silken-textured piece of writing, and has a real sense of body as well as soul. Body and soul are the physical and mental pictures that arise from the reading of this poem, in fact. There is a certain breathy sexuality about it, and it captures the concept of embrace as a dance very effectively. A deep, warm passionate kiss of descriptive writing.

PS interestingly and coincidentally enough, I have recently discovered a colour version of the image which is not too far removed from Indigo (mind you, that is subjective on my part since I may be a little colour-blind sometimes...)

Told you, didn't I? Indigo - purple -pink.... they're connected though, aren't they? Colour blind.
love the mixture of gravity and softness in this poem, so perfectly describing the passion of making real love....it is a dance, isn't it?
