Lives Entwined...

“We promised to be together! Why did you leave me?”

I sobbed while tears thrashed down my cheeks. I can’t believe he is gone.

I can’t believe he left me.

Forever.

It was getting dark and I had to go. Moreover the damp air of the graveyard was beyond what I can take.

“I will come tomorrow. The same time”

I murmured.

As if he would listen….

I pulled myself up. And staggered forward.

Then I stopped abruptly. I heard my name being called out.

In a daze, I spun around and…………saw nothing.

I must have been hallucinating.

Slowly I turned around and started my way.

After a few steps, I froze again as I heard my name being called out for the second time.

‘No! I am not hallucinating! This is real!’

I turned around expecting the worst.

I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.

I stood facing my Love, the one I thought I lost forever, in flesh and blood.

I was eerily glad.

“We promised to be together. Will you come with me?”He asked.

I found myself walking towards him.

I stood near him. His fingers ran down my cheeks and his eyes held me like a magnet.

“Will you?”

He repeated.

“Yes, I will”

I murmured.

And we walked, hands entwined, to his grave.

Our grave.
