A hope-filled write...hopefully!

LET THERE BE...

Let there be peace with words at play

And rue the blight of somber days,

When suns forget to shine.

Let there be laughter through the stay

Of evening stars on clouds that sway,

To mend the heart which pines.

Let there be music in the air

And dancing fairies everywhere,

With silken flutter wings.

Let there be children who will share,

Stories and heart-songs without care

Which prompts the world to sing.

Let there be moon glow for each eye
And baseball sounds...some apple pie,

The summer days to fill.

Let there be kindness, truth...not lies,

For quickly every hour flies.

Then breath of life is stilled.

The last lines make the poem in my opinion. Indeed, every hour does fly before the great stillness comes, so there is no to waste on the negatives of life. Without being Pollyanna, we must focus on the positives of our lives and cultivate a sense of gratitude for them while we still can.

Yes, let there be all of those moments of joy and safety. There is too much divide in this world for there to be complete peace and freedom. But we need to have respite from this difficult condition we find ourselves in. There have been too many somber days, especially now with Covid and all of its complications. Your poem expresses what we all feel Sharon, and we need some hope some laughter, some "music in the air"....
