EEK!

EEK!

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

A short list of possible phobias

"
I'm afraid of heights -
Don't make me go up there!
I'm scared of closed-in places -
I might run out of air.
I fear big dogs that bark quite loud
And bees and wasps cause pain,
I don't trust roller coasters,
I will not get on a plane.
Don't try to get me on a boat -
There's water all around!
I'm adverse to getting seasick,
And I worry that I'll drown.
So much apprehension
To cause me all this woe;
I suppose that fear itself
Is my biggest foe.

I also have some fears (spiders and heights mostly) but I like how you presented them the way you did! Also the last two lines are my favorite and its a very fitting ending for such a poem!
Thanks for sharing

Ha! I stay away from most of these things, too. Thanks for reading, Rose!
Awe, the adorable turtle attracted me to the hidden poem.

I, too am terrified of heights!

I sense:

1. Claustrophobia
2. Heights
3. Motion sickness ?

The only thing I am terrified from this poem is heights.
To be honest, I find my poem "Storm is Cumming" much more terrifying with phobia. However, that is tooting my own horn :P

FORMAT

1. The rhyme scheme is easy to follow.
2. The audience can relate to it on a simple level.
3. The allusions to certain f e a r is excellent.

MAGNIFYING GLASS

This is a quick Enlightenment. Nice work! :)

Thank you so much, Sarah. Trying to chase fears away... :) Glad you enjoyed this!
Hi Rita. A very good write about fears. I like the humor of the piece. You paint vivid snapshots of fears that any reader can see in their mind's eye. Flow is good as is the line to line transition and break. Nice rhythm. Good rhyme. Good depth of feeling. Excellent closing lines... fear of fear. Well penned.

We all live in fear of something - it helps to be able to laugh at it! Thanks, Dahlia!
