Still a Mystery

Still a Mystery

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

"

A

woman

stares at me

in  the  mirror

I do not know her

as well as one would think

She    is     still     a     mystery

wrapped in a cloak of confidence

LOVE this one. Every day I wake up thinking I might know who I am...until I look in the mirror.

Thank you, Kristin - yes, there is that hope that one day, I'll know before the mirror does...
...and as i stare back, i wonder
shall i ever understand her?
For grasping the depths which are she
should be anything but easy.
So i'll leave her be, for her beauty is her mystery.

I'm so sorry Rita, it was just so beautiful, the words all but jumped from my heart. hehe
i have no idea why i've connected so strongly to this though, perhaps we've all thought the same thing?
And without clearly defined truth, self-discovery can be one tedious journey.
Thankfully i know exactly who i am because of my relationship with my maker, but there is zero doubt that there's tons more, just waiting, itching even, to be discovered.

I duff my hat to thee, fair poet. This piece, doth greatly appeal to me.

Thank you, Noodle. I am still trying to work out the mystery... :)
"Still a Mystery" - thats a very good way to put this feeling; the sempiternal journey of trying to find ourselves. I enjoyed this piece! &I love the pyramid form.

very interesting layout. And wise thoughts, wrapped in confidence is how we present ourselves to the world, but getting to know ourselves is quite a different story.

Thank you, Cassie
It's true that our view of ourselves is only one facet of a much larger picture. Oh, to be a fly on the wall and learn what others see.

That thought is both intriguing and frightening... Thanks, Sam!
A mirror creates a right-left symmetry on both sides of its surface just as a triangle does on both sides of a line going from its apex perpendicular to its opposite side. Your triangular symbol and your poem's content both have the same meaning.

:) Thank you for this insight!
I think there are hidden traits we have but we can't discover them alone...they only emerge like a flower
does when touched by the sun.Rose...nicely done Rita:)
