Love a visit to the wine area close by. We have some wonderful Idaho wines along the Snake River plain south east of Boise. Come visit and we'll visit them.

I love spending a nice afternoon in a winery... yep, I prefer reds, though I insist on a white on Thanksgiving each year. Don't know why - I don't eat meat, so it's not that... one of my many quirks. :)

It clicked with me when I checked out the French word terroir..... fertile soil for grapes!

Thanks, Tom. "Terroir" is used to describe the specific soil in a region that gives the grape a certain flavor - thus, a Merlot from California will taste different from a Merlot in Pennsylvania, due to the terroir. (that, by the way, is the extent of my knowledge about wine!) :)
