A dense pre-holiday pack

Flows in rhythm with the bustle

Movements sure and swift,

A city tango kind of hustle

 

The stunning skin-tone spectrum,

A full cultural complement;

Side by side are working-class

And the clearly affluent

 

Overwhelmed are all the senses

The array of choices rife

Served by halal butcher,

Roman baker, Amish farm wife…

 

Once you’ve made selections,

Find a spot and quickly park it

To savor tastes and sights and sounds

I do love a good market...the smells of the nut stalls, the flower stalls, the green grocer yelling out his specials, the butchers, the picture people the list just goes on. I find them therapeutic and somewhat intense. I felt your presence at the market Rita. Well done.

We don't have any indoor markets locally but there's a farmers market in old town I just love. Its on a street near a fabulous authentic Italian restaurant and butchers shop. I love going there on Saturday afternoons to view all the merchants and sample some delicious food. :-)
