Tired Eyes

Tired Eyes

A Chapter by SheActsLikeSummer

I'm overwhelmed by the hands.
Taken aback by the smells.
Engulfed by the sounds.
Hands  held out to shake.
Smells of a working kitchen.
Sounds; children's voices.
Up the old rickety stair case.
Down a tight narrow hall way.
And into what's now my bedroom.
Calloused hands let go of suitcase.
Tired eyes to a welcoming bed.
Yawn slowly escapes my throat.
Fully clothed above sheets I lay.
Catching my long held breath I sigh.
Rubbing my tired eyes closed I sleep.
