A Chapter by Tripp

The ambulance came as quickly as she called and hopped out and brought Nikki to the vehicle while one of them walked over to Nikari and Bakura.

“I’m going to have to ask you a few questions.” He said, Taking out some paper.

“I don’t have time.” Bakura tried blowing it off.

“You have no choice, Sir.”
“Fine… But make it quick!”

“Do you know how the girl was killed?”
“Yes.”
“Do you know her name?”
“Yeah.”

“Do you care for her?”
“Yeah.” Bakura crossed his arms, Starting to get annoyed.

“Are you the parent or legal guardian?” the man looked up at him.

“Has she ever been abused?”
“You’re kidding me, Right?” a flash went before his eyes.

“No. I’m not. Now answer the question.”

“No. She hasn’t been.”

“Okay. We’re taking her to the hospital now in the chopper. Meet us down there.” He said, Nodding and walked off as Nikari sat beside Nikki.

“Clear!” another paramedic depilated her. No reaction. “Clear!” The same thing happened. “Clear!” Yet again, It failed to succeed.

“We found her dead this morning. She wouldn’t move.” She sighed and looked down at her. One of the paramedics checked her pulse and shook his head.

“She’s been dead for about seven hours.” He replied, Looking at Nikari and back down to Nikki. Bakura was still at the house and noticed some children playing in the front yard as a little girl put pen on the other.

“I need to go to the hospital!” one smiled.

“Why?” the other asked.

“Because I have the black dot of death!” she smiled as they both laughed.

“Oh yeah, You’re right! Put this on it for now.” She handed her a paper towel. The other girl took it, Set it on her hand and then gave her friend a hug.

Bakura walked back inside to find the F.B.I. searching his house and stepped back, Shocked at first and then in anger.

“What are you people doing in my house?!” he screamed with his hands on his head.

“Searching for clues as to why she died.” One looked up.

“No, No, No, No, No! GET OUT, NOW!” he pointed at the door and looked back at them, Eyes crazed.

“We have a permit to search your house, Sir. Now, Please leave… This is a crime scene.” He stated briefly.

“Fine… But do it quickly.” He growled in return and sauntered off to the hospital. The chopper landed on the top of the hospital as they started to carry Nikkis corpse inside.

“We’ll keep her here until the funeral.” One of the paramedics said as they walked inside.

“Okay. I’ll go an make a date.” She said and walked off into the city to find a funeral home.

“Excuse me?” she walked in and tapped a bell as an older gentleman looked over some paperwork. “Excuse me?” she asked again as he looked up.

“Oh! I’m sorry. My hearing’s not as good as it once was. May I help you?” he smiled.

“Yes. I need a funeral because my best friend just died and she’s in the hospital. Can you please arrange a date for me?” she asked, Looking up at the hunched over old man. He fixed his glasses and looked down at her, Pursing his lips.

“Yes. Please follow me.” He waved and walked into a backroom. She followed up the step and closed the door behind her and permitted herself to sit down in the chair on one side of the desk.

“Thank you, Sir.” She said, Folding her hands in her lap.

“No problem, My dear.” He smiled grimly.

“Okay… You know what? Get out of my house!” Bakura screamed, Slamming his hands down on the coffee table.

“I’m sorry, Sir, But you’re under arrest.” One man said, Walking over with some handcuffs.

“WHAT?!” he screamed, His eyes flashing red.

“We found your prints on the knife and other things that were used in Nikkolettes murder. So, I’m sorry, But  you’re under arrest. Anything you say or do can and will be used against you in a court of law.” He said, Reaching for his hand.

“No way!” he said, Snatching his hand back from the officer. “I didn’t do s**t!”
“We didn’t say you did, But, you must be taken in. Please put your hands behind your back.”

“No way! I didn’t DO anything!”

“Sir, Please. I do have the authority to tazor you if need be.” He replied, Reaching for his pocket. Bakura growled and turned around, Putting his hands behind his back, Not wanting to get into any more trouble than he was already in and headed down to the station.

“Thank you so much, Mr. Baker. I really appreciate it.” Nikari smiled, Shaking his hand.

“You’re more than welcome. I’ll see you tomorrow at the funeral.” He shook back.

“Thank you. See you tomorrow.” She replied, Walking out of the funeral home and down to the hospital and found some doctors with Nikki. “Hey.” She said, Looking at the doctor who was checking Nikkis eyes. “I arranged a funeral time for tomorrow at noon and it’s going to cost two thousand dollars.”
“Don’t worry about it. We’ll pay for it.” The doctor said, Turning around.

“A-Are you serious…?” she looked up and blinked in astonishment as he nodded. “Oh my goodness!” she teared up, Bringing her hands to her mouth. “Thank you… Thank you so much!”

The night passed slowly until the sun started rising over the horizon. Nikari made haste calling Joey and Serenity about Nikkis death and told everyone else as well. Hours passed before the dreadful time came to show up at the cemetery. The pastor started to speak as she was buried right next to Ryou. They all watched as her coffin was laid in the ground and buried by dirt. Joey walked up to her coffin, Prayed and kissed her cheek before they had closed it up. Now, He kissed the tombstone as the pastor prayed over the corpse. He let tears fall down his face as he looked at the engravings.

“You wanna talk?” Nikari asked, Walking up to Joey.

“She was the best, Sweetest, Most innocent person I’ve ever met. The best girlfriend I’ve ever had. Who would EVER kill a sweet girl like her? Who would even think about it?” Joey shook his head.

“I know who would.” She sighed.

“Who?” he looked up with a fierce look in his eyes. She sighed and stared at her grave for a moment. “It’s sad that she died on her birthday…” he said as she walked away. Just like at Ryous funeral, He felt a warm breeze past by him and then felt her presence as she appeared.

She looked at the ground and then back up at Joey and smiled, Joey crying and smiling. He walked over and hugged her, Holding her close.

“Thank you for everything, Joey. You were the best boyfriend I have ever had. The only one, But still the best. Happy anniversary, Because it’s in two days.” She smiled at him a bit. “I’m going to miss you , But remember, I’m always going to be with you. I love you. Take care of Nikari for me. I’ll see you when you come up here with me. You’ll look the same as you do now. I’ll be with you in your heart and soul and whenever you want me here. I love you. Goodbye.” She started disappearing.

“Goodbye. I love you, Too.” Joey said, Kissing her one last time and giving her a hug. “I love you and happy birthday and anniversary.”

“Thank you. And there’s a box under your bed when you get home. I love you, Too, Babe.”

She waved at Joey and vanished, Appearing in front of Nikari.

“Hey Nikari.” Nikki said, Hugging her. “Thank you for being a great friend to me, Bud. I love you so much. I can’t wait until you come up here. I can’t wait!  We’ll have so much fun. Take care of Joey for me and win the court decision on the case of Ryou and I, Okay? I love you.” She said, Hugging her and disappearing.

“Happy birthday. I love you, Too.” Nikari said, Crying.

“There’s also a box under your bed.” She whispered as she drifted off into the wind.

“You saw her, Too?” Joey asked.

“Yep. She’s finally happy.” Nikari smiled, Wiping a tear away.

“Finally reunited with her brother.” He smiled faintly and nodded, Looking up at the hazed sky as the wind blew.

“Yep. Finally reunited.” She smiled, Pushing a piece of loosed hair behind her ear and looked at the sky as well.
