Andrew, which came first the dry wit or the theological, philosophical juggling of ask and you will be told? You threw open the doors and windows and let mind, heart and conscience take such a clever stand.
'I am a universal answer
to a universal question.
I think we are
getting closer
to the truth.
Yes, your Honour.
Who is the last witness?
It is God your Honour.'
A finish unfinished, whilst so many amendments at hand. So much sitting in high places, listening to possibility before conclusions are reached and a summing up comes from what could be called the big divide between nothing but the truth. Deep breath! But, your honour, which truth?

Thank you very much for your words em, much appreciated.
I gasped at your final line, Andrew.. then re.read start to finish! First reaction: what relevance there is throughout at a time when nobody knows the answer to everything/ But, tis said that in the mayhem of questions, there be a patient silence in which to find answers waiting to be found.
You really have set the mind and heart racing, things to look into, feelings to be examined = alone or with help. This train of thought is superbly created

This is by far your most intriguing & intricate piece that I've ever read! Wow! This seems to be a departure for you, in that it's deep & multi-layered & symbolic & ironic. But you always say you're just a simple, straightforward writer. Hmmm . . .

dear Andrew... I leave others with a lot of questions...
but as God my Witness... it will be answered in the Bye and Bye.
Your poem reminds me of the Movie Santa Claus. "Yes, Virginia,
there is a Santa Claus..." (as long as there is giving and sharing and laughter)
there will always be Answers. Amen... Pat

Wow! This is deep and thought provoking. God, the law giver, is also the judge and jury. And now, He is the witness. Our minds are finite, our senses, so do our knowledge of the truth(the whole truth and nothing but the truth). Using common sense and logic can help us , but we also need some spiritual eyes and thinking for the unseen world.
So clever Andrew. Much enjoyed. How often do we get given the wrong answer to the question? Or the answer to a different question. Politicians are experts at this. Means you go round and round in circles and nothing is learned and no one moves. For those who believe in God I guess they put their faith in him knowing all the answers. Pity he doesn't speak.
