Off with his head!

Off with his head!

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

oh, just a little jest

"
vain is the jester
all he wants is the crown
incidents of treachery
liars and leches abound
lose tongues licking their lips
awaiting the death of the king
never suspecting a thing
courtesy eludes him
observation is his foe
unreality will be discovered
resting comfortably for now
till his guilt be found.

Many kinds of crowns. I like how you led the reader into places of treachery and question. You left me with more questions than answers. I believe the person real purpose will be found. Guilt is easily tripped over. Always a pleasure to read your poetry. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I know this guy...jester isn't quite the term I'd use, try oaf or boor...another cunning delivery from your pen...
