So glad you didn't say something

So glad you didn't say something

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

self explanatory

"
i am so glad you didn't say something ...

i remember the end
but i cannot
recall the start.

i must have had
those fuzzy feelings for you
somewhere in my heart.

i remember sliding
ever quicker
into your abyss --

as you sucked my bliss,
and smothered me
in your dark.

the way you left me
twisted and tangled,
ravaged and broken.

i remember the end
because it led me
to a new start.

i remember the end,
because it led me
to him.

The actions of one led you to another.....isn't that how it happens so often? People have to realize their actions will have powerful consequences. "twisted and tangled, ravaged and broken"....raw emotions expressed so honestly. I liked this. Lydi**

what a great ending...our ending led me to him....mmmm

thanks for the lift, but now i am going to ride with someone else...

he might have sucked your bliss...but sooner or later he will choke on the memories and regrets.

powerful words here.

Thanks, I liked the ending too. :)
I have been thinking along these lines recently, part of the reason for writing "Falling Man..." The difference is that you are glad they did not say something, while I would love to have them say something,, Yours leads to a new start, while mine is just a leap into the abyss hoping to hit a soft landing.. your poem is deeply introspective... one thing that is shared is :"the way you left me/ twisted and tangled/ ravaged and broken"... even a goodbye would have been welcomed

love this poem KL and the music, sadly mixes in nicely... "anywhere I would have followed you".

Heartfelt. Evokes deep feelings. I like the positive lines in this rather painful piece of writing such as "I remember the end because it led me to a new start". That's so nice and honest. Sincere writing in general.

Thanks so much. I hear a song, and relate it to something in my life, and take it from there.
