Romance in a tool box

Romance in a tool box

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

sometimes life isn't the way you thought it would be and that's okay

"
the one thing he didn't get

In his attempt to break her,
he demanded everything,
down to the last screw in the wall.
She gladly forked it over
in exchange for her freedom.
and he lost the one thing,
he wanted most of all.

the little details

some girls like candy,

or jewellery, or roses.
she prefers a man who's handy,
and isn't into poses.
one who pays attention
to the little details.
he knew what she needed,
a hammer and nai
ls.

tool kit

a tool kit
brings me
to tears.
only you
would understand.

You listen
with your ears
and give
with your
heart.

You talk
your calm
into me
like no one else
can.

You see me
with your eyes
and fix me
with your
hands.

A tool box could be the least, or the most, romantic gift in the world. It all depends on where you've been and what that tool box means.

The whole divided into three sweetly laid parts! There are touches of worded gold here, '.. he knew what she needed, .. .. a hammer and nails.' Seems it's not exactly what but how and why behind the scenes.

'You listen .. .. .. .. You talk .. .. .. .. You see me .. .. ' plus.. all the words attached, between and beyond say it in their own special way. Your thoughts here are more than lyrical.

It never is about the gift, but the reasons why. :)

"I got your fix"... the best kind of tool box repair kit, to treat someone as a human being with love and respect and understanding... in the song, I think I heard a line that said, "I'll make you visible"... I like the idea of this and I think it is at least a part of the tome in your poem... control is not love, but listening and allow someone to love you because they want to most definitely is... I enjoyed reading this poem KL, it's both your signature style but I can see you opening this "tool box" and just flat out smiling...
