Empty Soul

Originally a song I wrote way back Feb 10, 2008, changed a couple things so I could share. It was written about a specific moment in my life where things weren't good.

 

Nothing's ever perfect
Nothing's ever fair
I look into these eyes
And see this blank stare

Frayed since my creation
Abandoned from the start
My mother never loved my dad
And it breaks my f*****g heart!

Made to disappoint
Destined to fail
Created for your laughter
Only I could never tell

I am so pathetic
It’s so sad to see
I am just a worthless liar
but that’s what you made of me

That’s why you did it
That’s why you left me empty
Torn between my family
And it’s not sad for you to see

Why me? Why me?
What did I do to deserve this empty destiny?
Why me? Why me?
Take my empty soul and leave me free to be

You gave me life
But left me in this empty hole
So take my life
And my empty soul

Thank you Gloria. Your reviews always bring a smile out of me :) This one is an older write but still at a dark time. It just came back around to fit my life in the past year. I really want to be able to play my acoustic guitar and sing this... just at home though haha. Always appreciate your reviews :)

Isn't it interesting reading old pieces from a past moment and seeing how it somehow still relates in a different way to what's going on currently? I've had a few pieces do that for me. Do it! That'll be awesome, even at home, it's still brave! :) can't wait to check out your other works... I've been meaning to during the weekends when I'm not brewing.

It definitely is interesting... there are some pieces that I read and wonder where my mind was when I wrote it. It's nice though to look back and see how far you've come in life. I actually think I have chords down to do it. Been playing it a little the last couple nights when I'm home alone bored haha. I appreciate your checking out my other pieces... it's actually been a while since I've written anything so hopefully it will happen soon :)

Deeply emotional write. Though as I've told you before, I think, it needs a rewrite regarding the rhythm (as your other poem, I reviewed before). I could be a really good one if it had a more harmonic tune.

Thank you Sami.... written to be a song about 8 years ago. Performed back in the day but I have no idea how it was played on guitar so trying to do it on my own. Funny how we can look back and read words from the past and how they come full circle in life :) Thanks for your review buddy
