Life as of now

Life itself is just abstract 

You have to leave the past but refer back 

to keep intact 

Every day you gain a few pieces 

to enhance your body , soul and thesis 

Seems like there's more downs than ups 

but it makes you the person you want to be

you can either indulge what this world offers 

or be your own coach , your own shot caller 

We learn such emotions like love & grief

Pain and love, Mud and glass.

Like the time I got hurt years back 

Oh man, there I go referring to the past  

I have to learn from the past 

but also burn away from my past

The future is always on its way 

so I won't be worried with that

I need to worry about right now 

because it won't come back

Sometimes looking at your past can help you with your future. I think though people get stuck when they dwell on the bad parts of their past. The future is fun to look forward too but what are you really looking at? The unknown how do you know its going to be good? how do yo know its going to be bad? The past is something that can help make the unknown a little less unknown. Maybe I am reading to much into this lol Either way great poem!

Pain and love, Mud and Glass. Those were some impressive, great words. I love the message you are trying to send with this poem. Good job. My only complaint is that it doesn't keep a steady rhythm or rhyme pattern until about the third or fourth stanza, which threw me off a bit. Other then that, great poem and great message. It takes that special effort all our lives to keep the past away. There are things in the past that can be slowly but steadily corrosive to our spirits. It's a lesson we all have to remember as we schlep through this carnival called life. I think you nailed that concept here.
