I Always Wanted a Man

I Always Wanted a Man

A Poem by Diana

I always wanted a man
to bring me flowers

or a cup of tea
(to share)
when the skies are grey.

I always wanted a man
to guide me  gently into a room,
his hand ensconced around my waist.

I always wanted a man.
Yes, one of those will do nicely.

Fun tongue-in-cheek humor with a dash of authentic romance. I always wanted a man who would squeeze me fresh orange juice of a morn . . . but any man will do now that I'm 64! *wink! wink!* Nice job of using enjambment creatively to mislead the reader a bit (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

haa, again, it's your conversation skills that transition so easily and dominate.. such quaint and honest wishes as you scroll down the page and then bam! a whippy little apetiser to seal the deal... enjoy your way, well done.

Thank you. Your witty repartee isn't so bad, either.
I see Dickinson here.....but I see Dickinson everywhere.

it takes a clover
and one bee"

I love the sound of this.....dana

Well, thank you, I'm flattered. I've never been compared to Dickinson before. *blushes*
This is cleverly subtle. Well done.

Much appreciated. Thank you.
Diana, it is the fool who has the opportunity to do all of these things for you but doesn't. This was sad but beautifully written. I really enjoyed this today.

Simple wish or request but powerful and one that men should be honored to have and share. Excellent....:).......
