Wretch

Wretch

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Wretch

sedimentary

societal blunder

the one left to frigid winds

cowers to the countenance

masks her face with shame

she is equal

but their math

does not compute

she is left out

of their equation.

Life is not fair as the saying goes. Hard to achieve an equitable formula to satisfy one side or the other but worth trying. There is always a botched argument, a blunder of misunderstanding.
Excellent brevity sir.

These beautiful metaphors remind me of someone or a group of people is being ostracized for what reason.all of us are equal but not to society as it is.I love the last line…” she is left out of their equation”…an important write about how cruel society can be.
Best, B

Shame is such a strong word as is wretch sometimes not always fair they go together when sometimes they shouldn’t. When another makes one feel it, it should be theirs not the poor wretch. Relatable to the past, well done!
