~Buttermilk Skies~

~Buttermilk Skies~

A Poem by Frieda P

I loved you blithely through reverie's eyes
floating like  elusory feathers through my mind
i crashed into you whilst on a stargazing  cloud
you took my breath away with billowing vibrancy
locked in my caged illusion,  you sang like an angel
never wanted to peek the darkly light of day,
moonstruck delerium fancied  enchanted music,
dancing upon phantasy of pipe dreams
i breathe heavily of infused ether's essence
with hopes for musings of fool's heaven,
never to drift from this castle in the air
soul's glinting on serendipitous meditations
of buttermilk skies and apricot diamonds

The imagery in your poem is stunning... Your words float like the elsory feathers you speak of taking the reader into a dream like place of buttermilk skies and apricot diamonds. Stunning, stunning poetry my friend and definitely a new favorite. :) Julie

I'm thrilled Julie, thanks so much. :-)
You took my breath away with billowing vibrancy...that sounds very much like the effect your words always have on me Mrs.R :) You have a signature style yet every piece has little elements that make them unique, which is the best writing style to have...in this piece, it was the delicacy-inspired metaphors of the title and the end...sing on angel ;)

Always a pleasure my dear friend :)
Wow, there is some gorgeous imagery in this poem. You build a magical mood. I suppose this could be about two lovers, but it could also be a metaphor for that which drives your spirit, be it your muse or simply a desire to always embrace what you love.

Believe me it's not much, mostly the words drunken sailors utter! haha
The usage of language here...Frieda...each line is riddled in them with words you use to convey this rather effective poem...as a reader this has much to say for 13 lines of poetry...

A beautiful piece Frieda. The flow was wonderful in this and held a nice even tone all the way through.
