A short ode to Robin Williams

A short ode to Robin Williams

A Poem by Frieda P
"

You will be sorely missed...

"
You made us laugh
till we couldn't breathe &
 had tears in our eyes
from Orkian Mork  to Patch Adams
   & weapons of self destruction
you almost died,
    your heart petered out
we prayed for you,
   you gallantly pulled through
to keep us in stitches yet again in all your glory
only to pass on
 by
 falling upon your own sword
life is so unfair
now, the tears we shed are dark ones instead

of all people,
you'd be the first to see the irony in that

R.I. P. Robin Williams, I'm sure heaven is a funnier place because of you...

You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

I was shocked when I heard this over dinner. We have truly lost an incredible talent! A beautiful tribute, Frieda!

Bless you, Robin Williams...

He would smile and love this I think.. Coming from a huge fan and someone he touched in many ways like a lot of others.. Congrats freida this is amazing!!!

They say the most brilliant among us are also the most tormented. His history with addiction was a warning sign that things weren't all laughter and fun in his life. I imagine as with other comedians his talent for making us laugh was a cover for a pain he had somewhere deep inside. This is truly a sad end for a beloved man...and we must understand that all the accolades, fame and money are never enough to replace what's missing within. Amazing tribute!

I'm still trying to process the news, when I first heard about it I thought it was a hoax. He seemed not just invincible, but immortal, with how big of an impact his movies had on me growing up. This was an excellent tribute to a magnificent man. Robin will always be Peter Pan to me, not just for his portrayal of the character in Hook, but because he reminded many of us to not entirely grow up. May he rest in peace.

Think we're all in that processing mode, hard to believe...such a terrible loss, thanks John.
You know that there is little I can say right now love...I'm still trying to get it together in my head...I will return to this when I can review it properly...for now I will just say that you've moved me beyond words with this little ode...I'd love to write something tonight but I'm just too tongue-tied...as always you find the words for things that I struggle to express...great work Frieda...I wish I could work as quickly as you do...you have the words for everything, and you've summed it up so perfectly here...xo

that he did... indeed... you're welcome girl.. always a pleasure..
I can't remember the last time I felt real sadness because of an actor, singer, or entertainer's death. I've been watching his standup comedy and movies since the 80"s, so sad, and a great tribute.
