I watched him leave. Five minutes passed. Suddenly it started to get darker. I knew I should probably head home. I sighed as I put a hand on Mum's gravestone.
"Goodbye Mum," I muttered.
I picked my notebook up, and then walked out of the cemetery. Half way down the windy road, I heard a loud crackling noise and someone beeped a horn.
I looked behind me and out of nowhere a white van came rushing down the road. I stepped out of the way just in time.
"Watch where you're going kid!" The driver yelled at me as he drove past. He sounded drunk.
I glared after him. He was speeding! Obviously he didn't he read the sign saying 50km zone.

I trudged up the stairs and knocked on the front door. The lights weren't on so I peered through the window. Suddenly, the door opened. I jumped with fright.
"We had a black out, the lights should come on soon." Dad said.
The lights came on again ten seconds later. There were boxes all over the floor.
"Thank you for coming home, I-" Dad started.
I didn't let him finish.
"I'm going to have a shower," I said bluntly.
Then, I ran up the stairs, into my room, and slammed the door without even waiting for him to answer.
I collapsed on my bed and closed my eyes. It wasn't long before I heard Dad's footsteps on the stairs. He knocked on my door. I pretended I didn't hear him but he saw right through it.
"Come on, I know you're not in the shower, now open the door, we need to talk." He growled.
I forced myself to get up and open the door.
He stood in my doorway with his hands on hips, and attempted to do a serious face.
"What do you want Dad?" I demanded as I lay back down on my bed.
"Downstairs, right now." He said.
I rolled my eyes.
"Whatever I've done, I'm sorry." I yelled after he left.
