Your hands are those that create our future
You molded us into better persons;
Not to make names but to live with dignity
Not to stand with pride but to have with dignity

I bow down my head to this stanza. I can relate completely.
In the classroom, I always tell my students that I treasure values over knowledge. so if they really want to prove that they are good students they must show they are men of values, not just men of reasons.

Dhaye, what you have inscribed in here is the heaviest responsibility of the teachers.
Thank you for sharing this.

This is a truly awesome piece - a reminder to me of what I am really doing in my classroom. That last stanza is something I want to tape onto my desk to be a daily affirmation. Wonderful write!

Thanks, Sir Jacob. I'm glad you found it a nice one. :)
I really like the way you have presented this poem, Dhaya, the image of the potter's hands working on the wheel is just so powerful, your beautiful writing is very moving, such careful choice of language has paid off, my heart was touched , well done
